Colerain to organize volunteering event
People Working Cooperatively will be hosting an event in Colerain where people can offer assistance to locals.
The Colerain Township 7th Annual Community Give-Back Day is a program where people can volunteer to assist members of the community in need. The event serves those who are elderly, disabled, veterans, or earn low incomes. Many groups are invited to attend the program, including the Colerain Township Administration and Public Works, Colerain and Northwest High Schools, and the Colerain Chamber of Commerce. The event will start at the Colerain Community Center. Coffee and donuts will be served at the center to participants.
People Working Cooperatively is an organization that has been benefiting the community for more than 48 years. The group provides home repairs to those in need and offers accessibility modification services. Over 4,500 local houses are helped by the organization each year. The president of the group is Jock Pitts, and the vice president of development is Chris Owens. The organization has more than 110 professionally trained staff members.
The community give-back day will be held on Saturday, October 7 from 7:30 am to 12:30 pm. Those interested in volunteering for the event must register online. Participants can select the type of tasks they prefer to work on, including yard work, sidewalk repairs, and painting houses. Community organizations that hold similar group projects may use printing services to promote them in advance.
