Colerain to enjoy one last taste of summer
The town of Colerain still has one summer celebration in store, the Taste of Colerain, before school starts again.
This year's festival has a sense of finality in another way, too, as it might be the last time the township sponsors the event. The plan is to conduct a survey at the end of this year's festival to see how much people like it and whether they want it to return or not. When conducting surveys, townships can use printing services to produce the questionnaires for people to complete.
Food will be the star of the show at this year's festival. The event will start with judges awarding the winners of various "Best of Taste" categories. Winners in each category will be given a plaque.
Other food-related events at the festival include samples of chili prepared by the Colerain Fire Department. A number of community and municipal organizations, such as The Citizens Police Academy, will have booths set up and local restaurants will also be there. A few of the eateries scheduled to appear at the festival are Miss Kylee's Funnel Cakes, J. Gumbo's, and La Rosa's.
The event begins at 5:00 pm this Friday, August 11, and wraps up on Saturday with live musical performances by the US Army Band and Bad Habit, before a fireworks display at 9:00 pm.
