Colerain slideshow to celebrate notable bridge builder

The Cincinnati Public Library will teach Colerain locals about a noteworthy bridge constructor next month during a slideshow presentation.

Roebling - the Man, the Bridge will be an educational discussion held online that will detail the significant contributions of John A. Roebling. The presentation will use a slideshow to convey important facts about the man’s life and provide an insight into the John A. Roebling Bridge.

The topic will be presented by Don Heinrich Tolzmann, who is a Covington-Cincinnati Suspension Bridge Committee Historian. Libraries offering educational slideshows like this can advertise their discussions throughout a community using flyer printing.

Roebling was a notable civil engineer who was born in Germany in 1806. The man worked on several important projects, including the Allegheny Aqueduct Bridge, Niagara Falls Suspension Bridge, and Roebling's Delaware Aqueduct. His company was also credited as the cable contractor for San Francisco's Golden Gate Bridge. The final project Roebling worked on was the Brooklyn Bridge in New York.

The online slideshow will be presented on Monday, March 1st from 7pm to 8pm. The program is suitable for adults. Registration is mandatory to attend the presentation, though there will be no fees to register for the lesson. Links to the discussion will be sent to those who register before the event begins.

People wishing to learn more about Roebling can visit a website made by the Covington-Cincinnati Suspension Bridge Committee.
