Colerain project to teach children rocket science
Colerain families can participate in a rocket-themed STEM activity in May offered by the Cincinnati Public Library.
Virtual STEM: Radical Rocket Science is a project for children presented by Crystal Clear Science. The library branches will provide take-home kits that participants may use during the online demonstration. During the project, families will learn about the laws of motion, different kinds of energy, and balanced forces through hands-on experiments. Other topics in the show include the scientific method, revolution, and how energy changes.
The virtual activity is part of the Remake Learning Days Festival, which is a region-wide event where families can participate in innovative learning experiences. The fest’s activities consist of themes like science, arts, outdoor learning, and technology. The Kenton County Public Library and Catalytic Fund will be joining forces to coordinate the educational festival. Several activities will be offered, like marble runs, watercolor painting, and scavenger hunts.
The rocket science project will take place on Tuesday, May 17 from 4:00 pm to 5:00 pm. No purchase is necessary to join, though library patrons must register for the STEM activity. Zoom links to the presentation will be given to registrants a day before the event. The learning festival will be held from May 14 to May 21. Region-wide fests like this can be promoted to consumers by using banner printing services to design highly visible signs.
