Colerain library to host professional writer interactions

Those interested in advice for their writing can attend a meeting with the Writer-In-Residence this October at the Groesbeck Library in Colerain.

Writers who are struggling with their content can head to the Groesbeck Library to meet with this year’s Writer-In-Residence, Dani McClain. Attendees can ask questions about overcoming challenges they face in their pieces or how to properly put their ideas onto paper.

While McClain’s expertise is focused on journalism and non-fiction, she still welcomes writers of all genres. Meetings with McClain should last no longer than 15 minutes. Libraries that have events like this can use print shops to create ads that inform guests about upcoming activities.

The Writer-In-Residence is a program offered by the Cincinnati Public Library system that appoints an accomplished writer to act as the library’s literary ambassador to the community. The writer makes appearances at the different branches throughout the year.

Those who are part of the program will provide in-person and online guidance to aspiring writers while representing the library in the local literary arts scene. Past participants include Kurt Dinan, Jessica Strawser, and Emma Carlson Berne.

The meeting with McClain will be held on Friday, October 16 from 4:00 pm to 5:00 pm. The session is free to everyone, though interactions with the writer will be first come, first served. The program is intended for teens and adults.
