Colerain chamber to create greener community
The Colerain Chamber of Commerce has formed a program where businesses can help make the city more environmentally friendly.
Donations for Street Trees is a program that invites local companies to work together to form a beautiful and environmentally conscious community. The initiative asks businesses to donate money to assist the chamber with planting more trees throughout the city. The town has already identified optimal locations to place the new greenery and assures store owners that the new trees will not reduce their sign’s visibility. The current goal of the campaign is $10,000.
The initiative is part of the larger Team Up to Green Up program, which is another environmental cause that businesses can join to create a healthier Colerain. Shops can take part in the program by pledging to be more sustainable. Sustainability pledges include obligations such as sweeping nearby sidewalks and street gutters daily, servicing trash receptacles regularly, and turning storefronts into litter-free areas. Volunteers may also adopt city blocks.
The fundraising event will finish on December 31st. Those interested in assisting the Colerain chamber may pay $20 or $50 to become a tree sponsor. Businesses can become a contributing sponsor for $500 or $1,000 to have their logo featured on the chamber’s website. Organizations that promote initiatives such as this may utilize poster printing to educate locals about their causes.
