What's Happening in Westbury, NY…

Westbury walkers to enjoy autumn outing

There are many ways an individual can take charge of their own health and safety, and for those who call Westbury home, one of these will be to participate in an upcoming activity.

The Long Island Health Collaborative will be partnering with the New York Coalition for Transportation Safety to bring the “Walk Safe...With a Doc” outing to the community, and it will be part of the larger Car Free Day festivities that will be held in the area. It will be a one-off event, and will set off from the Hempstead Housing Authority.

During the walk, Valley Stream Hospital’s Dr. Keasha Guerrier will share tips for walking safely, and they can also meet others who are interested in the topic. The participants are asked to observe social distancing measures and wear a mask as well, and additional details about this can be found on the activity’s online listing.

This sort of activity can be both fun and informative, and promotional pens and other items can be prepared to give to each participant. These, along with other corporate gifts, can be obtained from area printers.

This chance to enjoy an autumn outing while learning about ways to stay safe will be offered on September 25. It is scheduled to begin at 10:00 am, and the group will set off from 260 Clinton Street in Hempstead.
