The second most common form of dementia is Lewy Body Dementia, which often misdiagnosed and misunderstood. In an effort to raise awareness of the condition and to raise funds for the American Brain Foundation and the Lewy Body Dementia Resource Center, an evening celebration is being planned.
The Shepard Family and the Lewy Body Dementia Resource Center are putting together a gala, named the ‘David B. Shepard Gala, a Night to Remember’. The gala has been set up to honor David Shepard, who retired from his career in direct marketing in 2010 as a result of the disease.
Organizers of galas and fundraisers can use a local Print company to produce Posters and other materials to promote the event. The promotional materials can highlight who will be attending the gala and the reason for it.
The special guest speaker at the David Shepard Gala will be Susan Schneider Williams, the widow of actor Robin Williams. Schneider Williams is on the board of directors for the American Brain Foundation and became an advocate for Lewy Body Dementia after the death of her husband in 2014.
The event will take place at the Garden City Hotel, Garden City, a few miles from Westbury, on July 20, at 7:30 pm. Tickets to the gala can be purchased via the Lewy Body Resource Center website.
