The former Westbury Theater has been given a facelift and a new purpose. Reinvented as the Space at the Westbury Theater, it has recently become a popular concert venue.
Singer-songwriters, tribute bands, and up and coming acts have taken to the stage at the space in recent weeks and, for the fall, concert promoters such as the Bowery Presents have booked a variety of performers on the Main Stage. Promoters can use marketing services to help get the word out about their concerts to people in Westbury and across Long Island.
This Tuesday, September 20, pop-rock performer Ben Folds will appear on the Main Stage. Although he has been accompanied by a band in the past, during the upcoming concert, he will be alone on stage with a piano. The door opens at 7:00 pm and the show starts at 8:00 pm. Tickets are $35 for general admission, which is standing room only, $55 for reserved seats in the loge, or $35 for reserved balcony seats.
A few days later, on September 23, Dr. K's Motown Revue will take the Main Stage. The Motown Revue will perform classic Motown hits from the 1960s by the likes of the Supremes, The Four Tops, and Stevie Wonder. Tickets are $20 for standing room or $30 for reserved seats in the loge.
Other acts scheduled to perform at the Space throughout the fall include Rocking the Paradise (a tribute to Styx on October 8), Henry Rollins on October 26, and The Indigo Girls on November 4.
