Westbury kids to enjoy exploring STEM subjects

Even during the hectic holiday season, there are opportunities for kids to learn about the STEM subjects and have fun doing so, and a Westbury area venue will be opening its doors for a special celebration.

The Science Museum of Long Island strives to make learning fun and exciting for people of all ages, and in late December, it will be offering a day of discovery that will be all about winter. This will be a drop-off activity, and each child will need to bring along brown bag-style lunch.

The kids in the activity will be exploring the cold in a variety of ways. They will work with liquid nitrogen, examine the science of snowflakes and also how animals adapt to freezing temperatures. The workshop will run for five hours, offering parents or guardians some time to relax and treat themselves while they know their child is well supervised and having fun.

When planning an in-person activity for the younger set, organizers often choose to order activity sheets and Books from area Stationery printers. These can be designed around a central theme, offering the reader even more chance to learn.

The Science Museum of Long Island has scheduled this day of cold weather fun for December 27. It will begin at 10:00 am, and both members and non-members may register.
