Westbury area venue to run winter holiday workshop

Indigenous Americans harvested maple sap for centuries, and the practice continues to this day. A Westbury area activity will introduce the process during the February school holiday.

The Science Museum Long Island provides the public with fun ways to learn about the STEM (science, technology, engineering, and mathematics) subjects, and it has a Maple Sugaring workshop on offer next month. It will include a visit to a small sugar bush located in the venue’s reserve, and it will be a hands-on session.

Kids who register will pay a visit to the bush, and they will be able to see how trees are drilled, the spigots installed, and the sap harvested before it is boiled down to make syrup, sugar, and other maple products. There will be a chance to do some taste testing with a big stack of pancakes.

The activity is suitable for those from the age four up. Packed lunches are requested.

Children may really enjoy the chance to learn something new, and a workshop or other organized class provides them with a chance to do so. Registration Forms, handouts, and Letterheads are just some of what Stationery printers can supply to event organizers.

The Science Museum of Long Island has scheduled its Maple Sugaring Holiday Workshop for Friday, February 23. It will start at 10:00 am, and the registration process can be completed on the museum’s website.
