Row for Autism to take place near Westbury

In the middle of April, the annual Row for Autism Regatta will return to Port Washington, near Westbury. The regatta, now in its seventh year, is hosted by the Friends of Port Rowing and the North Hempstead Town Board.

Organizers of fundraising events can use printing services to get the word out and to let interested people know the details. The Row for Autism event is free to attend, but donations will be gladly accepted towards the cause.

The cost for rowing teams who wish to participate in the regatta ranges from $60 for a two-person team to $120 for an eight-person team.

The Row for Autism usually attracts rowing teams from Long Island, as well as from other parts of New York and surrounding states.

Judi Bosworth, the supervisor for the Town of North Hempstead, said:

“The Row for Autism is such an exciting event that brings the community together for a great cause.”

A quarter of the proceeds from the regatta will go to The Nassau Suffolk Autism Society of America. The rest of the money raised will be put towards purchasing adaptive rowing equipment.

Early registration ends on Sunday, April 8 and is available at portrowing.com. Late registration will continue through Thursday, April 12. The regatta starts at 7:30 am on Sunday, April 15.
