A local band is about to return to its Long Island home to play a show at The Space at Westbury Theater.
The Lords of 52nd Street might be better known as Billy Joel's touring band during the 1970s and 1980s. They toured, performed and recorded with Joel a lot during those years. Russell Javors, the band's rhythm guitar player, helped the singer create many of his hit songs, including ‘52nd Street’, ‘Glass Houses’, and ‘The Stranger’.
The show at The Space at Westbury Theater will be the band's first time playing together in 30 years. The reunion performance comes three years after the band was inducted into the Long Island Music Hall of Fame.
Concert venues can use postcard printing to easily get the word out about upcoming shows and area bands who will be performing. Postcards can be handed out to people passing by, or mailed to the homes of past patrons.
Along with Russell Javors, the Lords of 52nd Street features Richie Cannata on saxophone and Liberty DeVitto on drums.
The band will be playing a mix of tunes from Billy Joel's back catalog, although Joel himself will not be performing.
Some of the proceeds from ticket sales will benefit The Children's Learning Center at the The Cerebral Palsy Association of Nassau County.
The band will play on March 10 at 8:00 pm. Doors open at 7:00 pm.
