A trio of seniors from the Levittown Public School system recently earned recognition as top scholars by the National Merit Scholarship program.
The three students were recognized as Commended Students, meaning their scores on the 2017 Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test were among the top 50,000 in the country.
The Commended Students from the Levittown area are Jason Barr and Lillian Heynh, who both attend General Douglas MacArthur High School, and Sean Wolf, who goes to Division Avenue High School.
In all, more than 1.6 million students entered the 2019 National Merit scholarship competition by taking the preliminary SAT in 2017. Around 34,000 students were given the Commended Student recognition.
Schools who have students earn national scholarships or recognition can use banner printing to highlight the achievements and talents of their students. All three of the Levittown area students who earned Commended status are involved in numerous extracurricular activities.
