Wing-eating contest returns to Springfield

Foodies from across the greater Springfield area have begun clearing their plates for a one-of-a-kind event taking place in early November, which is celebrating a milestone anniversary.

Wingapalooza is marking its 25th consecutive year, and what began as a quirky competition is now recognized throughout the United States as the most popular chicken wing eating competition. Not only is this a way for foodies to demonstrate their skills, but all funds raised will be devoted to a good cause in the form of Springfield Sertoma, which raises funds to support local youth charities and organizations. Organizers claim that previous competitions have garnered more than $1m.

In addition to wing-eating events, guests can enjoy other attractions. Some examples include live music, food trucks, a silent auction, various raffles, and a selection of alcoholic beverages. This festival is not recommended for children under the age of 12.

Annually recurring festivals will normally employ marketing strategies that offered results in the past. Poster printing is one example, as these items can be valuable advertising tools while doubling as memorabilia. Placing Flyers in public locations may be an equally worthwhile alternative.

Wingapalooza 2026 will be returning to Springfield on Saturday, November 7 at 11:00 AM. All attractions can be found within the Springfield Expo Center located at 635 East Saint Louis Street. Ticket prices begin at $23.18 per person.
