Local business serves as venue for creative art experience
With a fun art form coming to a local venue, this is an experience Hazel Park residents will surely enjoy.
Pints and Prints: Seasonal Printmaking Workshop is a lesson hosted by Madison Laidlaw of Hay•mo•mad. The event explores the artistry of crafting a hand-carved stamp.
Students will each get to create their own autumn inspired stamp. Laidlaw will start the evening with a demonstration of the drawing and carving steps, before the group gets started. She will be able to help people individually during the time following the demo. There is also a printing demonstration, but people are able to continue carving if needed.
Once everyone’s stamp is done, each will be placed on several pendants, which will be put together into garlands for everyone to take home with them. Attendees will also be able to take their stamp.
Tickets are available through EventBrite. Included are materials, a drink, and the instruction. The general admission is priced at $81.88. For $60.54, guests can choose to bring fabric from home. As an add-on for $7.18, attendees can gain access to colored ink, in addition to the white and black everyone else will have.
The venue is Urbanrest Brewing Company, which is located in Ferndale. Hazel Park is just a few miles away. Many artistic events will make use of flyer printing as a promotion technique. The activity will run between 6:00pm and 8:30pm on November 18th. The doors will open at 5:30pm.
