Salisbury school to host educational expo

A local organization will be taking its mission of promoting academic fields in interactive ways to a Salisbury venue, with an event scheduled for mid-April.

The Great STEM (+) Expo is an event that aims to give school children a chance to be immersed in experiences relating to Science, Technology, Engineering, Math, and the arts.

These include a model of the solar system they can walk around in, along with having the opportunity to design their own galaxy, using art. There will be simulations of black holes and of meteorites hitting planets, materials to create watercolor space scrapes, planet lanterns and paper rocket launching.

There will also be augmented reality displays of geographical terrains, Lego building - both challenges and free builds - paper airplane making, and lessons on using a 3D printer.

NeXgen STEM Academy aims to make STEM (+) more exciting through events like this one, as well as their regular lesson plans.

Organizations such as the Minds In Motion Children’s Museum, Destination Imagination, Delmarva Makerspace, Lego League, and First Robotics Team will be present alongside the NeXgen STEM Academy, to help attendees with the activities and provide knowledge about the STEM (+) fields.

Flyer printing can be used to advertise educational events like this one.

There is no admission fee to attend the expo. It will take place between 9:00am to 2:00pm on Saturday, April 20. The location is Salisbury Middle School, which can be found at 607 Morris St.
