Chamber readies for Salisbury job expo
Quality Staffing and the Salisbury Area Chamber of Commerce will be holding their Delmarva Job and Career Expo in early October.
The newly named Delmarva Job & Career Expo's new location, the Wicomico Civic Center, will offer even more space for the event, which last year attracted 65 businesses and 2,000 job seekers.
Admission for those looking for jobs will be free, while businesses in the Lower Eastern Shore region wishing to participate can reserve table spaces for $150.
Businesses may opt for the $500 premium business sponsor packages. These will include premium table locations, a slide presentation, signage with company logo, social media posts, print materials and press releases. Job hunters who attend events like this often have local printing services print multiple copies of their résumés to hand out to potential hirers.
Amenities offered to job seekers will include a résumé doctor to help applicants advertise themselves better, American Sign Language interpreters, and Creole and Spanish translators. An American Job Center Mobile Unit will feature internet access and computers to facilitate training, career development, and job searching.
A Non-Profit Circle will comprise 10 selected local non-profit organizations promoting and displaying volunteer opportunities, services, and information.
