For the 11th year, Frederick Road Fridays will be back for the summer, this time with a few changes to keep people intrigued and coming back for more.
The Greater Catonsville Chamber of Commerce organizes the concert series, which is free. Held on Mellor Avenue, the events include music, food, and beverages, as well as face painting for the children, and lots of room to dance.
The concerts are timed for early evening, so that attendees can enjoy a meal at a restaurant either before or after the event. The music ranges from classic rock to jazz played by the Soul Magnets, and modern rock courtesy of the Dave DeMarco Band.
Catonsville Gourmet will sell crab cakes every week from its booth, while Tim's Treats, a food truck, will have “fair food” like curly fries and cotton candy available. Frozen yogurt will be supplied by Sweet Front, while beer and wine will be available at the Chamber's booth. Proceeds from the sale of alcohol will go to support the Chamber, as well as a nonprofit organization, which will be different each week. Among these are the American Cancer Society and the Baltimore County Arts Guild.
The concerts start tonight, June 1, and run every Friday evening through August 31, from 6:30 pm until 8:30 pm.
Events like this can be enhanced if organizers work with a banner printing company to create colorful Banners to decorate the venue.
