First residents move into new Catonsville facility

Brightview Rolling Hills, a senior facility in Catonsville, has opened its doors.

The new center offers a range of services, including assisted living, independent living, and memory care. This facility is the 12th Brightview installation in Maryland, and is only a quarter-mile from the Brightview Catonsville care home.

Rolling Hills comprises 143 apartment homes, some for those who wish to live independently, some for those who request assisted living, and some for those who need memory care. The building resembles a hotel more than a care facility. Among its amenities are a dining room styled like a restaurant, an outdoor bar, movie theater, hair salon, pub, communal balconies that overlook a planned fire pit and garden, and a lobby complete with sofas. Apartments vary by layout and size, depending on the desires of the residents.

According to Deanne Lawrence, executive director, this facility and others in the Brightview family are designed to fit in with the rest of the community. Before construction began, builders studied the structures and homes in the area, and included the same features in the Brightview community. In addition, photos of historic Catonsville are found throughout the building, increasing its connection to the city.

Center managers might consider working with brochure printers on a booklet describing the facility and its amenities. They could make it available to healthcare professionals and realtors in the area.
