Catonsville residents are able to enjoy music in the open air for the eighth year in a row.
According to a recent post on the city's website, the Frederick Road Fridays concerts are now up and running, sponsored by the Chamber of Commerce. The concerts take place in The Shops on Mellor, a complex of small businesses located slightly apart from the main shopping street, Frederick Road.
The concerts are weekly, and each band is playing on behalf of a non-profit organization. One Flight Up, which was the act on June 19th, is supporting Soroptimist International; the June 26th concert is by the Jeremy Gilless Band on behalf of the 4th of July Committee; and July 3rd finds Appaloosa playing on behalf of the Baltimore County Arts Guild.
A full list of concerts is on the city's website.
Organizers ask that visitors patronize the event's sponsors and non-profit organizations, and buy alcoholic beverages from them rather than bringing them to the venue. They also say that although they love dogs, audience members are asked to leave the pooch at home.
The concerts are free, suitable for all ages, and continue through August 28th, 2015. They begin at 6.30pm and run until 8.30pm.
Concert organizers could work with a banner printing company to create a new banner for each week's concert, adding to the fun.
