Catonsville gets in the Cloud

An upcoming course will grant finishers a Cloud Certification.

The “8 Weekends Google Associate (GCP) Cloud Certification Training Course,” is an interactive class in which many students will participate. It is guided by instructors and offers lab exercises, training materials, and recordings of the training sessions. The instructor is a Certified Google Associate Cloud Engineer.

The course prepares graduates for the role of Google Associate Cloud Engineer, an expert who monitors multiple projects, deploys applications, and provides solutions to meet the metrics developed as the target performance. The course is detailed and extensive and comprises five main sections with dozens of subsections.

The course is meant for those who will be working with the Cloud on-premises, and with public clouds. They will be able to use the Google Cloud Console as well as the command-line interface to carry out tasks based on the platform to maintain deployed solutions. The students include those hoping for a career as a Google Associate Cloud Engineers, as well as those looking to take the Cloud Engineer exam. Prerequisites include a basic knowledge of Google Cloud and its services and products, as well as some cloud concepts knowledge, including networking, containers, and virtual machines. Graphic design can be used to enhance materials for courses like this.

The sessions begin July 17 and continue for eight weekends, with a pair of two-hour classes each weekend making up a grand total of 32 hours of instruction. They originate from the IT Training Center in Catonsville.
