Catonsville area plans walkable puzzle

There's often lots of history that took place close to home, and a Catonsville area event will offer an active exploration of a town’s past.

The Missing Treasure of Old Ellicott City will see participants fan out throughout the community, solving puzzles and learning about its history as they go. As it is not a competition or race, it will not be timed, and is free to take part in.

Those who are interested are asked to submit their information in advance, as this will ensure there are enough materials and prizes for all. The route will include stairs, and it will take approximately one and a half hours to complete. It will include stops at various local organizations, and while it is geared towards those who are at least nine years old, everyone is encouraged to participate.

The listing for the challenge explained that a hard copy version of the clues and other materials will be available for pick up at 8267 Main Street in Ellicott City. Smartphones will be required. Print shops can be tasked with preparing prizes and other items for a special event.

This combination of a historic puzzle and walking tour is scheduled for September 28th and 29th. Both days will run from 1:00 pm until 5:00 pm, and a link to register and view the materials that have been prepared for the day has been made available.
