West to meet east during Alpharetta cooking class

The Pacific Northwest region of the country is well known for its delicious food, and an Alpharetta event will soon be bringing a taste of the west coast to the east.

Whole Foods Market’s Salud! Cooking School will be hosting an evening that will put Portland’s Wildwood restaurant front and center. The participants will receive instruction in cooking a variety of dishes that feature vegetables, seafood, fruit and other ingredients sourced from the Pacific coast area, and these will then be paired with wines from that region as well.

The meal being prepared will start off with an appetizer of creamy crab and wild mushrooms, which will be served with bruschetta made using brioche. Next, there will be a salad of roasted radishes with greens, hazelnuts and goat cheese. The main course will be cedar planked salmon with a basil and roasted corn salad, and this will be followed by a dessert of blackberry cobbler complemented with High Road Bourbon Burn Sugar Ice Cream.

The instruction provided will involve using hands on teaching techniques. Recipe cards and other items for a class such as this can be produced by an area printing company.

This evening which will salute the west coast and its diverse range of ingredients ill take place on August 4th at the Whole Foods Market Avalon. The ticket price is $69.00 each, and more information has been provided on the Awesome Alpharetta website.
