Alpharetta residents with a love of history and unique experiences will want to save the date, as a Georgian ball is being prepared in town.
The Royal Society of St. George is preparing its MOWW Georgian Ball next month to celebrate 700 years of heritage and 250 years of dance, welcoming Alpharetta residents to join in the fun. The gathering will be a costume party, and attendees are expected to wear Georgian-era clothing to match the ball’s aesthetic and theme.
Dance instruction will be provided by Atlanta’s Historic Dance Company, covering several popular dances from the 1800s. It is being set up with help from MOWW (Military Order of the World Wars), a veterans’ association, along with the chivalric order of St. George. The proceeds raised will benefit the Royal Society of St. George’s branch in the Atlanta area. Sponsors can work with printing services to promote such events while gaining good publicity and lasting impressions.
In addition to an evening of dancing, guests will enjoy live music and a buffet meal at the ball. It will be capped off with historical presentations, headlined by the Colonial Massing of the Colors.
The Metropolitan Club in Alpharetta has announced that it will host the ball on Friday, February 20, starting at 7:00 PM. Single admission is $125, and couples’ admission is $195 online.
