Learn to make pasta in Alpharetta

A upcoming cooking class at Sur la Table goes over all the basics and essentials of making pasta at home. The aim of this class is to show people how easy it is, and some of the variations that can easily be conjured up by home cooks.

Residents of Alpharetta can currently sign up for this class. The size tops out at 16, with students working in groups of four. There is one instructor, and usually at least one additional helper per class. Each class lasts two to two and a half hours, and students get a generous tasting portion of each dish.

This class is all about pasta. Students will learn the basics of making pasta dough from scratch, and apply that skill to multiple dishes. Students will also learn to make fillings and sauces to go with the fresh pasta. The recipes included in this class are farfalle with walnut pesto, lemon, and goat cheese; pappardelle with sausage and onion ragu; and limoncello gelato.

The class will be held at Sur la Table at North Point Circle, where there is plenty of parking. Participation is $75 per student.

Events like this often take advantage of printing services. Cooking classes send home printed recipes with students after the class is over, and often they also hand out paper coupons as well. This class is scheduled to take place on Thursday, December 20, at 6:30 pm.
