A performance by vocalist and pianist Emmanuel "Chops" Smith will take place in Alpharetta next week.
"Chops" has played piano since the age of three and has trained in jazz, classical, and contemporary music. He started performing professionally at age 15 and has been continuing with his performance career ever since. He has given shows in a multitude of venues across the Southeast, including Churchill Grounds, The Velvet Note, The Red Clay Theater, and The Georgian Terrace Hotel. In addition, he has been the featured artist at several prestigious jazz festivals such as the Atlanta Jazz Festival.
He has performed both as a solo entertainer and with several different groups. Artists that he has worked with include Chris Potter, Bobby Shew, Russell Malone, Mike Abene, and Bob Reynolds. Bands he has worked with include Tracksuit Mafia, the Emerald Empire Band, and Bumpin' the Mango. He is even the bandleader for a few of his own bands called The Chops Experience and the Emmanuel "Chops" Smith Trio. On top of that, he released his first jazz album, simply titled “CHOPS,” in November 2017.
The performance will take place on Tuesday, December 27 from 8:00 pm to 11:00 pm at the Roaring Social at 35 Milton Avenue in Alpharetta. Venues such this may be interested in poster printing services that will help them market their events.
