The Act 1 Theater company, in partnership with the City of Alpharetta Department of Parks, Recreation, and Culture, will present a free performance of Shakespeare's A Midsummer Night's Dream in Brooke Street Park.
A Midsummer Night's Dream is one of William Shakespeare’s most widely performed. The comedy revolves around several simultaneous subplots that are all connected by the marriage of Duke Theseus of Athens with the Amazon Queen, Hippolyta. The complicated love tangles of four individuals are one important subplot, as they fall under the spells of a love potion. Another involves the exploits of a theater troupe as they prepare a play for the wedding. The romantic exploits of one of the theater actors, Bottom, and the Fairy Queen, Titania, are also involved.
The Act 1 Theater company is an all-volunteer program through the Alpharetta Presbyterian Church that has been serving the community for more than 25 years. It produces drama education programs as well as high-quality and entertaining theater experiences. The company also welcomes individuals of all backgrounds into a highly supportive environment.
Brooke Street Park is located at 2 Park Plaza and the performance will take place on this Friday, October 21 from 8:00 pm to 10:00 pm. Theater companies such as Act 1 Theater can benefit from brochure printing services to help promote their performances.
