This fall, locals can start off the holiday season with a tree lighting ceremony for the whole family in the center of Alpharetta. This event features an ‘activity row’, holiday performances, and an ice rink.
The activity row will feature photo booths, face painting, caricatures, and more all set up along Avalon Boulevard. A DJ will start off the musical entertainment for the day, with local artists stepping in to perform throughout the day.
Two groups in particular will be taking the stage. From 5:00 to 6:00 pm, North Point Community Church will be on stage, helping to get people in the holiday spirit. From 6:30 pm to 8:00 pm, Bogey and the Viceroy will have the stage for what will be their fourth year performing at this event. The duo covers soul songs from all eras, as well as older rock and pop songs.
At 7:00 pm is the main event: the tree lighting. Avalon boasts a 40-foot-tall tree, which will be covered in lights. One other main feature of the event is the opening of Avalon On Ice, a skating rink that will be open to the public starting at 2:00 pm.
The entire event takes place at Avalon, a combination shopping area, hotel, and living complex. Since this space does include residential areas, an event like this might use flyer printing to help advertise for the event.
The event takes place on Sunday, November 18, from 1:00 to 8:00 pm.
