A way to rid themselves of household hazardous waste is coming to Alpharetta residents in the form of a special waste drop-off day that requires pre-registration.
Among the items accepted are paint and substances related to paint, home and garden chemicals, poisons, and unusable gasoline. There is no fee relating to the acceptance of the hazardous waste and the event is only open to residents, meaning Alpharetta businesses cannot take part.
Brochure printing services can be used by trash collecting companies to apprise residents of what items they may and may not put in their regular trash collection. Additionally the public can also be informed about which items are considered hazardous materials to only be accepted at certain prescribed times, and what items are suitable for the recycling bin.
To participate, a completed pre-registration form must be submitted no later than Thursday, June 16 for the June 18 hazardous waste drop off. A return confirmation will be given. Participants will need to bring their confirmation form with them when they drop off their items.
Drop-offs will take place between 8:30 am and 1:00 pm only. Residents are to remain in the vehicles and technicians at the collection site will unload the materials, and they are asked to keep the hazardous materials in their original containers and separated.
Pre-registration Forms can be found here. For additional information, get in touch with Terry Porter at 678-297-6213.
