Alpharetta to explore tastes of Europe

Next month, the Eastern European Cuisine Workshop is set to take place in Alpharetta.

The Publix Aprons Cooking School is the host of this hands-on cooking class. The school holds a variety of food preparation workshops that focus on different types of cuisine across states, including Florida, Virginia, Alabama, and Georgia.

This workshop will last between three and four hours with a focus on traditional Eastern European foods. The dishes that class participants will learn to make include sauerkraut pierogis with potatoes, Polish paczki (doughnuts), rice and beef-filled cabbage rolls, hrudka (a cheese made of egg), and sour butter bean soup.

Alpharetta locals interested in the cooking class can purchase general admission tickets online for $60 per person. Participants are advised to bring comfortable footwear, as the class will primarily require students to stand up while working in the kitchen. A short break and a snack will be available two hours into the workshop. When handing out or posting information about community events, the hosts of similar workshops often use flyer printing to produce cost-effective handouts that summarize essential details for anyone interested in attending.

To follow the required social distancing guidelines, all participants must wear facemasks at the class.

The Eastern European Cuisine Workshop is scheduled to be hosted at the Publix Aprons Cooking School at Alpharetta Commons on Sunday, May 2, beginning at 10:00 am.
