The Wire & Wood Music Festival will be returning to Alpharetta for its eighth year and will be offering over 30 performances on six outdoor stages scattered about downtown Alpharetta.
This free festival attracts musicians known locally, as well as those nationally recognized, to perform their own original work. This year’s headliners include Ruthie Foster and Drew Holcomb & The Neighbors. The festival offers more than music though, as attendees can also avail themselves of food trucks and food supplied by local restaurants.
With the help of a banner printing service, many localities are able to successful promote their events weeks in advance to those driving through their community.
Blues artist Ruthie Foster will be performing on the first night of the festival. The four-time Grammy nominee is from Texas and credits the influence of singers such as Aretha Franklin and Mavis Staples for the development of her own unique, genre-transcending sound.
The festival resumes on Saturday night with an Americana act Drew Holcomb & The Neighbors from Nashville, Tennessee. The group has honed its sound by extensive touring that saw them sharing a stage with names like Willie Nelson, Amos Lee, Don Henley, and John Hiatt.
The 2021 Wire & Wood Music Festival will be from 5:00 pm to 11:00 pm on October 8 and 9. The event, which is sponsored primarily by the Alpharetta Convention and Visitors Bureau and the City of Alpharetta, is free.
