The 66th annual Old Soldiers Day Parade will be held this summer in Alpharetta. This is a longstanding tradition in this city, and involves not only the parade, but also a band and a memorial service. As this has been a tradition for many years, the event is undoubtedly well-known in the community already.
The parade started in the 1950s years ago as a way of honoring veterans from all wars, and remembering people from wars long past. This includes all the way back to the Civil War. There are people dressed up in replica uniforms from the various wars, or authentic uniforms if those particular veterans are still living in the community. The parade is the most popular part of the event, and includes not only the veterans, but also classic cars, clowns, and other fun attractions to lighten the mood a bit.
The parade is hosted by the City of Alpharetta and American Legion Post 201. The hosts will likely use banner printing to not only help advertise for this event, but also have a banner at the beginning of the parade, as is often seen. The event is free and open to the public, and will take place on Saturday, August 4. The band will start playing at 9:15am, the memorial service will start at 10:00am, and the parade will start at approximately 10:30am. The parade starts on Roswell Street and ends at American Legion Post 201 on Wills Road.
