Alpharetta business group to host sports tournament

The Alpharetta Chamber of Commerce has announced a Pickleball Tournament at the start of May.

The event, which is open to both Chamber members and the community at large, is meant to highlight the growing popularity of the sport and give individuals the opportunity to learn how to play it.

As part of the event registration fee, attendees will also get a Pickleball Group Clinic, run by Coach Bam Bam of Ruthless Pickleball. As such, Chamber officials say that the event may be ideal for casual players looking to better understand what pickleball is and how to play the popular game.

Welcoming new, intermediate, or advanced players, the tournament comes with 90 minutes of round-robin play. New players who do not yet have their own can borrow the equipment on hand, but individuals are encouraged to bring their own materials if they can. Light refreshments will be available, and Chamber members will have a chance to network with others who attend the event.

The tournament will be held on Monday, May 1, at North Park Alpharetta. It will run from 4:30 pm to 7:30 pm. Tickets are $45, and sponsorships are available. Businesses who are interested in sponsoring the event, which comes with public acknowledgment and the chance to hand out Promotional Products, should contact the Chamber.
