The Extreme Kayak Fishing Sand Sculpting Amateur Contest is taking place next month in Pompano Beach.
Competition is for both beginners and advanced sand sculptors, and each person or team is given a 10 x 10 foot plot to work on. Competitors can enter within the brackets of ‘Adult solo’ (aged 16 and over), ‘Kids solo’, ‘Open team’ (up to six members), and ‘Kids team’ (aged 15 and under); the first in each category will qualify for the Florida Amateur Sand Sculpting State Championship to be held at Fort Myers Beach. Entry fees are $15 per person.
Competitors and spectators will also be treated to a sand sculpting demonstration before the contest begins. There will also be an awards ceremony later in the day.
The sculpting contest is just a small part of the Extreme Kayak Fishing tournament. The winner of the tournament can win $3,000, and proceeds from the event go to support the Broward Children's Center.
No doubt this event will be widely advertised in the Pompano Beach area. Local printing companies are sometimes asked to help in this field by providing products such as Flyers or Brochures.
