Pompano Beach will be holding a race in February to raise funds for the Good Karma Pet Rescue.
Runnin' for the Rescues is a fundraiser where people can support homeless pets while competing for awards during a timed 5K race. The family-friendly program will have musical entertainment, a bounce house, and a photo booth. Food trucks and local merchants will also be attending the race for people to browse. Guests have an opportunity to meet with adoptable pets at the fundraiser and drop off donations. Raffles will also be held at the program.
The Good Karma Pet Rescue is a nonprofit organization that is dedicated to providing care for homeless pets in the South Florida area. The group was formed by Stacey Tollackson in 2011 and is based in Fort Lauderdale. The rescue has several kinds of animals that are available for adoption, including guinea pigs, bunnies, dogs, and cats. People can assist the nonprofit by becoming foster families for the animals or volunteering for the organization.
Runnin' for the Rescues will be held on Sunday, February 5th from 8:00 am to 1:00 pm. Those interested in competing in the 5K may pay $25. The registration cost for the program will go up after January 1st. Pet rescues that organize fundraisers such as this may use poster printing to share their activities with others in their community.
