Pompano Beach police to participate in safety trials

The Southeast Police Motorcycle Rodeo will be holding a riding competition this September at the Pompano Beach City Centre.

The 31st Annual Seminar & Safety Trials is a motorcycling competition where police officers show their skills while raising money for charity. Participants will face off in several different course layouts, including obstacles like The Pitchfork, Kaizer Kross, and Pinky’s Playhouse. Any riders who put their foot down or knock over the guide cones will receive a penalty. Spectators can enter a raffle that gives the winner a 2019 Harley Davidson Road Glide.

The competition will support the organization Concerns of Police Survivors (C.O.P.S), which is a national group that benefits the children of fallen police officers. The event has also earned money for charities such as the Palm Beach County Explorer Program and the Seminole Police Explorer Program. Past competitions have raised more than $40,000 for these charitable organizations. Flyer printing can help organizers generate community interest for events like the 31st Annual Seminar & Safety Trials.

The motorcycling competition will be held from September 23 to 26. The course will open for practice at 7:00 am each day, though the competition and awards ceremony will take place on September 26. Those interested in entering the Harley Davidson raffle can pay $1 per ticket or $20 for 25 tickets. People can also buy hats and T-Shirts from the competition’s online store.
