A new Hilton hotel will be opening right by the sand in Pompano Beach.
The hotel is part of a redevelopment plan that is designed to transform the corridor along the beach into a world-class tourist destination. It will be built on what was once a parking garage for the city. It will be five stories in height and have 150 rooms.
One of the principals in Pompano Pier Associates, Tim Hernandez, said that his company has been hired to develop the area to include restaurants and shops and he glad that Hilton took up the offer to open a hotel in the area.
He added that retail space his company is planning to develop will also include a surf shop, Kilwin’s, and BurgerFi. The idea was to find a more interesting mix of shops than is typically found on a suburban street.
The Madhav Group, run by Aashish Patel and his father, will build and operate the hotel. The new hotel will be designed to attract millennials who tend to stay no more than two nights and families who prefer longer visits.
Hernandez added that having a hotel will help attract people to the beach area throughout the year and not just during condo-renting season in Pompano.
