Pompano Beach families can take part in a community activity in August to celebrate the back-to-school season.
The Back To School 5K/10K is an activity organized by Team Fort Lauderdale where families can finish off the summer with a physical event. The course will take place at Pompano Air Park. There are no medals for completing the race, though a finish line clock will be set up so participants can know their finishing time. The activity is non-competitive and will not be giving out trophies to the fastest finishers. Community events such as this may create outdoor Signs using banner printing to market the race to people.
Team Fort Lauderdale is a group interested in promoting long-distance running as a form of physical fitness. The organization was initially referred to as The Greater Fort Lauderdale Road Runners Club. Anyone who becomes a member of the running club will receive discounts at local sports stores, free access to running and walking clinics, and Invitations to group picnics. Individual memberships to the group cost people $35 per year, while family memberships cost $55.
The back-to-school activity will be held on Saturday, August 27 from 7:00 am to 8:00 am. The cost to register for the 5K and 10K will be $25 per participant. All racers must register for the event by August 26.
