Adaptive SCUBA Programs will be holding an event at the Parrot Island SCUBA Charters in Pompano Beach.
The Aquanauts Boat Excursion is an experience where veterans and those with disabilities can participate in a fun group diving activity. Those who take part in the program must be certified SCUBA divers. All participants are asked to complete a pool exercise before going on the boat expedition. The cost of the boat ride is covered by the organizer, though guests will have to pay for their own equipment. Complete sets of SCUBA gear are available to rent from the venue.
Adaptive SCUBA Programs is part of the Aquanauts Adaptive Aquatics organization. The nonprofit group uses SCUBA diving to provide people with recreational therapy and help individuals become more self-confident. The organization’s mission is to provide aquatic therapy and life enrichment to veterans and people who have disabilities. Many events are organized by the nonprofit, including beach excursions, SCUBA training workshops, and camps for kids with special needs.
The boat excursion will be on Saturday, August 12 from 7:30 am to 12:30 pm. The cost of renting a full set of SCUBA gear is $75, and the price of renting an air tank is $24. Registration for the boat trip will open on July 16. Nonprofits that offer programs like this may use printing services to make branded Apparel for their guests.
