Native culture the focus of upcoming yearly fair

The 44th annual Seminole Tribal Fair and Pow Wow is returning to Broward County for three days this February.

The main event for this fair will be the Pow Wow Competition, which will be awarding $150,000 in prizes. There is a $10 entry fee for the main Pow Wow division, but those in the Tiny Tots and Golden Seniors division can enter for free. Through several rounds of competition a winner in each category will be named and prizes will be handed out.

Other activities taking place during the three-day event include dancing, a drum circle, and animal shows such as alligator wrestling. Food and beverages will be also available for purchase.

Musical entertainment will be provided by such artists as Jordan Mowat and George Molton. There will also be performances from wisdom dancers, demonstrations by the Native Village Polynesian Revue, handmade jewelry and other native arts and crafts, cultural displays, and a Seminole clothing contest.

This event will likely attract visitors from all over the county, including Pompano Beach. Advertising Posters and Flyers provided by area printing companies may be distributed to surrounding communities.

The Seminole Tribal Fair and Pow Wow is taking place at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel and Casino from February 6 to 8. Admission is free. To get the latest information about this annual event, call 1-866-625-5374.
