This June, the Broward Section of the National Council of Negro Women (NCNW) will be hosting the Red Ribbon Hi-5K race in Pompano Beach, Florida.
The Red Ribbon Hi-5K is an event that is dedicated to raising public awareness about the issues caused by the HIV/AIDS epidemic. The race will be a certified 5K with timing services provided by Race Day Professionals. Those who attend the event are allowed to run, jog, or walk through the course. Participants can even register or join teams online to compete together during the 5K race.
In addition to the 5K event, there will also be an educational health fair that will take place once the racing is finished where the community can learn more about HIV and AIDS. There will be free health screenings provided at the fair, and people can privately test for HIV as well. Organizations with booths at the event can use brochure printing services to create distributable pamphlets with beneficial information to pass out during the health fair.
The Red Ribbon Hi-5K racing event will be held on June 8 from 7:00 am to 10:00 am. Registration for the race will cost $30 per person. The staging area will be at the E Pat Larkins Community Center. Anybody who would like to support the cause can make an online donation.
