The Bailey Contemporary Arts gallery in Pompano Beach, Florida will be conducting a class that educates attendees about working on pieces that use experimental media.
The Experimental Media Workshop wants the students who take the course to learn new artistic techniques by using unique materials while creating the piece. The workshop suggests that those attending the class should bring both wet and dry media, in addition to objects such as old fabrics, toys, and jewelry. There will be mixed media provided during the course, though the gallery does recommend that students bring materials from home to personalize their projects.
Kimberly Maxwell will be leading the Experimental Media Workshop. She has participated in many professional group exhibitions in the past, having her work featured at the Miami Art Museum, Boca Raton Museum, and inside the Schmidt Gallery at Florida Atlantic University. Maxwell is known for her painted pieces as well as her use of mixed media. One of her ongoing projects is creating recycled pieces from old and wasted paper from Stationery printers, turning trash into ornate works of art.
Anyone who is interested in attending the Experimental Media Workshop can register online for $35. Space is limited to 12 seats, guaranteeing personal instruction. The class will be held on March 9 and will last from 11:00 until 3:00 pm. Students must at least be 16 years old to register for the course.
