The Hillsboro Lighthouse Full Moon Gala will be held next month in Pompano Beach. It is a fundraising event that is also celebrating the 111th anniversary of the lighthouse.
The gala is set to kick off with a cocktail reception that will give ticket holders a chance to meet their neighbors and learn more about the lighthouse.
It will be followed by dinner, dancing, and a tour of the lens room for those who are interested. In addition, there will be a silent auction where guests can win prizes such as a stay at the lighthouse keeper’s cottage or a ride on the Good Year Blimp.
Only 256 tickets will be sold for this event and guests are encouraged to wear black and white. Guests are reminded that shoes with heels will not be conducive to climbing up to the lens room.
It is likely that there will be information provided throughout the evening about the significance and history of the Hillsboro Lighthouse.
