Florida event showcases life in Renaissance England

The Florida Renaissance Festival is beginning this month and will be held on weekends until the end of next month.

The area will be set up as a Renaissance Village with a variety of events that will demonstrate what life was like during those times. There are set to be more than 100 vendors and artisans who will be selling their wares or providing demonstrations on such skills as glass blowing, metalsmithing, and alchemy. Visitors can also learn about the history of chivalry

In addition, there will be plenty of food and drink to enjoy, along with a pub crawl and a special school day. The festival will also have special theme days to appeal to all interests; the first weekend will concentrate on pirates and the last day will be a carnival masquerade. In between, there will be special days dedicated to Vikings, fantasy, and Celtic culture.

This annual event regularly attracts visitors from all over the state, including nearby Pompano Beach. Many of the vendors may invest in banner printing services to decorate their booths and to attract more visitors.

The Florida Renaissance Festival will take place from February 13 to March 27, with the exception being President's Day on February 15. Admission is $21 for adults and $9 for those between the ages of 6 and 1, or season's passes are available for $75 and $35. Call 1-800-3-REN-FES to find out more.
