The 6th annual Tea in the Garden event is taking place this February in Pompano Beach. It will be a fundraising event for The Fruitful Field.
Guests will be served an English tea and pastries. They can then visit the tropical food forest or walk through the gardens accompanied by the sound of live musical performances. There are also set to be several guided tours during the day. Participants will learn about ways the organization hopes to feed the hungry.
The Fruitful Field is made up of community gardens and a food forest. The organization also has a Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) program in which resident of the area can purchase shares, following which they are provided with a bag of locally grown produce. There is a choice of two plans: $100 a month for a variety of greens or $160 for vegetables, greens, and fruit.
The annual tea is no doubt widely advertised in the community. This may include the distribution of Flyers obtained from Pompano Beach Stationery printers.
Tea in the Garden will be held at The Fruitful Field on February 28 from 3:30 pm to 6:00 pm. Tickets are $25 for adults, $20 for those between the ages of 11 and 17, or $10 for children ages 2 to 10.
