Boat parade starts off holiday celebrations

The 53rd annual Holiday Boat Parade is taking place this month in Pompano Beach, presented by the Greater Pompano Beach Chamber of Commerce.

It is free to participate in the parade. All of the boats are judged by a panel and winners collect prizes and awards. Some of the categories on which they will judged are Most Unique, Best in Show, Best in Sound, Most Effective Lighting, the Chamber of Commerce Award, and Best First Timer. For those who are registered, there is a mandatory boat captain briefing that will be held this evening at the Isle Casino's steakhouse, beginning at 7:00 PM.

The grand marshal for this year's parade is County Commissioner Chip La Marca.

The awards will be handed out at the Captain's Party on January 6. It will be held at the Pompano Beach Marriott Resort and Spa from 5:30 - 7:00 pm.

As decoration is an important part of those boats taking part in the parade, many of the participants may decide to invest in banner printing services from local printing companies.

The Holiday Boat Parade will be held on the Intercoastal Waterway on December 13, beginning at 6:00 pm. To find out more about the parade, the Captain's Party, or the awards party, contact the Greater Pompano Chamber of Commerce at 954-941-2940.
