Blacksmithing course offers new knowledge in Pompano Beach
Pompano Beach residents seeking to learn a new skill should mark their calendars for next month, when a blacksmithing workshop will visit town.
At the Introduction to Blacksmithing course, interested parties can learn the art, methods, and techniques of forging glowing-hot steel into tools, decor, and more. The event organizers are aiming to help attendees get out of their comfort zone by absorbing and applying new knowledge.
The session is geared toward beginners with little to no experience of blacksmithing or forging. It will be led by instructors from The Guild, an urban craft and folk art school. The workshop serves as a prerequisite for intermediate classes offered by The Guild, allowing interested students to elevate and grow their knowledge and experience. Brochure printing is a comprehensive resource for sharing in-depth information with attendees at learning events and workshops.
Students will learn safety tips, basic metallurgy, and five of the nine forging techniques. These skills will help them taper, twist, and scroll hot steel into a decorative hook for home decor. The course is designed to accommodate up to eight students.
The workshop will be held in Pompano Beach on Saturday, October 5. Students are welcome to arrive at 4:00 PM, and the learning session will continue until 9:00 PM. Tuition is $249 per student, and reservations are available online.
