This is a free community event for all ages sponsored by the Broward County Library and City of Pompano Beach. The festival is to celebrate the Pompano Beach Library and Cultural Center’s first anniversary.
This event will combine the Chalk Lit Festival and ArtPop Celebration. The Chalk Lit Festival has chalk artists that create mural art on the sidewalks in downtown Pompano Beach.
The ArtPop celebration has female artists that perform music, dance, create art, and show digital presentations during the festival.
Library director Kelvin Watson say that the hero theme will be an educational and inspirational theme for the artists and children and adults that attend the festival. Chalk artists of all ages will be able to participate.
Carpooling and ride sharing are encouraged. The Hog Barbecue Restaurant will be a drop off point for those that use Uber, Lyft, or Spandex. It is located at 147 Cypress Road.
There will be food trucks available with a variety of foods during the festival. There will be hotdogs, hamburgers, coffee, soft drinks, sandwiches, and desserts. Pompano Beach has Print shops that create marketing materials for events like this.
The Art Lit Festival 2019 will be held on January 19 from noon to 10 p.m. at the Pompano Beach Library and Cultural Center 50 West Atlantic Boulevard.
