Presented by the Greater Pompano Beach Chamber of Commerce, the 55th annual Pompano Beach Boat Parade is taking place next month.
Residents of Pompano Beach and the area are invited to participate in the parade free of charge. Captains will receive goody Bags containing items such as T-Shirts and a DVD of the parade. They will travel down the Intercoastal and compete for Best of Show, and for several cash prizes. Boats will be judged on criteria such as style and creativity. An awards night will be held at a future date at the Fort Lauderdale Marriott Pompano Beach.
For those who want to get in on the action but do not have a boat, they can take a ride on the lead boat, The Musette. For $60, guests will be treated to a buffet, open bar, musical entertainment, and dancing. For those who would rather stay on dry land, there will also be several viewing locations along the way at various pubs and restaurants.
It is likely that some of the Pompano Beach participants will be decorating their boats with lights and Banners to show off their creativity.
